I qualified as a Reflexologist in 1997 after having personal experience of Reflexology and feeling the positive results. I am convinced that there are many complementary ways to help heal us both physically and mentally so as not relying solely on medication. Lots of healthy people come to see me to enjoy the relaxing and de-stressing benefits of Reflexology. There are times when the treatments I offer are specifically targeted to address a person’s health concern.
Up until 2014 I was part of the Complementary Team at the Macmillan Dales Unit at Harrogate District Foundation Trust Hospital treating patients with all types of cancer. We worked alongside the medical team and the patients’ carers.
In 2006 I was part of a project for the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Harrogate when they received lottery funding for treating their members in the local area with reflexology.
In the 18 years I have been a Reflexologist I have treated many people with many different health conditions and I am as passionate about the benefits of Reflexology as I was when I first qualified.
As a reflexologist I became aware of other therapies that would enrich my Reflexology work so in 1999 I qualified as a Bach Flower practitioner, which provides emotional support.
In 2002 I studied Reiki to Level 2 and qualified in 2004 in Dao Yin Tao ( Chinese neck, face and shoulder massage)
I regularly keep up to date with the latest thinking and news from the professional bodies I am a member of a local group and meet fellow colleagues to talk about health issues. I also enjoy a monthly Reflexology treatment to keep me healthy.
Before working as a Complementary therapist I worked for 8 years as an Infant teacher before leaving to raise a family of 3.
